About Caregiver Atlas
Caregiver Atlas started the way a lot of caregiving journeys do - by accident.
One day you're living your normal life, juggling work, family and responsibilities. The next, you're a family caregiver, managing doctor appointments, medications, insurance questions, home safety concerns and decisions you never expected to make.
No roadmap. No training. Just a lot of...How did this become my responsibility?
That's where I found myself.
How Caregiver Atlas Began
I didn't plan to become a caregiver. I became one because someone I love needed help - and there was no one else to step in.
Like many caregivers, I assumed there would be one clear place to go for answers. Instead, I found myself jumping between websites, paperwork, phone calls and advice that never really fit real life.
What I noticed right away was this - there are plenty of websites to find "Care" or "A Place for Mom" but very little help for everything else caregivers are responsible for.
I created Caregiver Atlas to fill that gap.
A Different Kind of Caregiving Resource
Caregiver Atlas is not a medical website. It's not a sales pitch. And it's not written by people who only studied caregiving from the outside.
This is a caregiver support resource built for real people doing the hard, often invisible work of caring for someone else - while trying to keep their own lives together.
Here, we focus on the parts of caregiving that tend to get overlooked, including:
-
Understanding what needs attention now versus what can wait
-
Helping loved ones age in place safely
-
Navigating insurance, legal documents and long term planning
-
Balancing caregiving with work, children, finances and personal health
-
Finding local resources you can actually trust
-
Protecting the mental health of caregivers along the way
Most family caregivers never planned for this role. Many are managing full-time jobs, children, relationships and their own health - all while quietly holding someone else's life together.
Caregiver Atlas exists to say this clearly: You are not behind. You are not failing. And you are not alone.
Support for Caregivers - Without the Noise
Caregiver Atlas is a growing hub of caregiving tools, including articles, checklists, planning guides and local resources - created to help caregivers feel more prepared and less overwhelmed.
This is a work in progress, because caregiving is never static. Needs change. Priorities shift. And caregivers deserve support that evolves with them.
My goal is simple: To create a place that feels honest, clear and supportive.
A place that helps caregivers plan without fear.
A place that reminds you that your well-being matters too.
If you found your way here because you are overwhelmed, exhausted, unsure where to start - or just need reassurance that what you're feeling is normal - you're in the right place.
Welcome to Caregiver Atlas.
